For those of us called to missions, a Scripture that touches our hearts is:
Matthew 28: 16-20 [KJV]: “16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.’”
Is not verse 17 so typical? Even in the presence of Jesus some doubted!
Thankfully scripture is full of examples of seemingly unworthy men used mightily by God.
I love the example of Gideon who, when called by God to save Israel from the Midianite oppression, responds that not only is his family unworthy and poor but adds that he is the least in his father’s house! God’s response should be our battle cry: “Surely I will be with thee, and thou shall smite the Midianites as one man.” (Judges 6.)
You see friends; it is not us that are worthy but “He that is in us.” There is no greater adventure than going out and telling the world about Our Saviour.
God bless you for your faithfulness!
